We got through Hurricane Lowell safely. Power remains out. 80% of the island is without power. Communication is spotty. Weather is breezy, but we have beautiful blue skies again! I am on a flight to Maui in the late morning, and Kayla’s got a flight to Oahu before me, and from those places we will catch our connections to Seattle. The hurricane was WILD. I have never witnessed the supreme power of nature in such a manner before. It was certainly something to behold. A very potent experience which was thoroughly seen, heard, and felt. And that was only a Category 2 — and not even the worst part of that: other parts of the island facing the hurricane got hit much harder than Kapa’a. Could go for another Kenji Burger! 🍔
