Losartan might be a really bad medication
PSA: I have had chronic dizziness, nausea, blurred vision, fatigue, and other issues since late 2020, and I just figured out that it’s been the Losartan I’ve been taking this whole time.
I stopped taking it and the aggressively bad way I’ve felt this whole time disappeared completely for the past two days. I also saw many specialists during this period who all had their own terrible ways of dealing with the problem, like the neurologist who put me on like an anti-seizure medication that made my head feel like it was stuck in a vice. Let’s add another shitty med on top of the one causing the issue! 🙃
I’m convinced Losartan contributed to and possibly was the reason I needed an emergency appendectomy two years ago.
There are Reddit threads full of other people who have experienced similar issues.
I’m still on the other two BP meds I’d initially suspected, but stopping Losartan was the one that fixed the problem.
Also fuck my then-primary doctor for scolding me when I tried this experiment 6 years ago by telling me never to self medicate again. You were wrong about this one and I was right.
